The Rockland County Times recently reported on a significant meeting between altruistic kidney donor Megan Bosack and recipient Evelyn Bautista. The donation took place on April 7th, with the two individuals having their first meeting at Temple University Hospital on April 25th.

Megan Bosack, aged 21, donated her kidney to 17-year-old Evelyn Bautista. Both were previously unaware of each other’s identities until their encounter at the hospital. The event was notable as it highlighted the impact of anonymous organ donations.

Kenneth Chavin, MD, MBA, PhD, FACS, who serves as the Director of the Abdominal Organ Transplant Program at Temple University Hospital, provided insights into Ms. Bosack’s medical condition known as nutcracker syndrome. Dr. Chavin discussed her diagnosis and treatment process in an interview.
