The schedule for the 2025-26 Big 5 men’s basketball season has been finalized, marking a continuation of the format established in previous years. The six NCAA Division I men’s basketball programs in Philadelphia will be divided into two pods, each consisting of three teams. The teams will compete against each other within their respective pods at on-campus locations in a round-robin style.
Following these initial games, a tripleheader event is scheduled to take place at Wells Fargo Center on Saturday, December 6. During this event, the top-seeded teams from each pod will vie for the Big 5 championship. Meanwhile, second-place teams will compete for third place and third seeds will battle for fifth place.
For the upcoming season, one pod includes Drexel, Penn, and Saint Joseph’s. The other pod consists of La Salle, Temple, and Villanova. Penn’s matches are set to occur between November 17 and November 21. On Monday, November 17, Penn will host Saint Joseph’s at The Palestra. Later that week on Friday, November 21, Penn will travel to face Drexel at the Daskalakis Athletic Center.
Tickets for the Toyota Big 5 Classic at Wells Fargo Center are expected to be available starting September. Fans can check Big5Classic.com for further updates.
