Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) has expanded its pediatric cardiac care services to Reading, Pennsylvania. The Cardiac Center at CHOP will now offer care for children with congenital and acquired heart diseases at a new location on 5101 Allentown Pike in Temple, PA.

The Reading clinic will be overseen by Dr. Louis Hansrote, a pediatric cardiologist, along with the team from CHOP’s Cardiac Center in Allentown. The clinic will operate on the second Thursday of each month and provide cardiology visits for both new and existing patients. Non-invasive tests such as electrocardiography (ECG), Holter monitoring, and echocardiography will also be available.

Vivek Allada, MD, Medical Director of Outpatient and Community Cardiology at CHOP, said: “We are humbled and excited to expand our access and be able to offer CHOP’s world-class pediatric cardiac services in a convenient location for families in the Reading community. This outpatient clinic, supported by Dr. Hansrote and the entire Allentown team, will allow families who rely on us to get the same incredible heart care closer to home.”

CHOP’s Cardiac Center operates across 16 outpatient locations throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey within the CHOP Care Network, making it one of the largest outpatient cardiology services nationwide. In addition to these clinics, CHOP cardiac specialists collaborate with over 30 community hospitals in the region to provide consultations as well as ECG and echocardiography services.
