Congressman Dwight Evans, who has represented Pennsylvania’s 3rd District in the U.S. Congress since 2016 and previously served in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, recently addressed several national policy issues on social media. In a series of posts dated July 10, 2025, Evans discussed Congressional healthcare legislation, federal education policy, and gun control measures.
On July 10, 2025, Evans criticized recent actions by Congressional Republicans regarding healthcare reform. He stated that “Last week, Congressional Republicans voted to throw 17 million Americans off their health care – here’s the rest of the story about their #Trumpcare bill:”.
Later that day, Evans commented on efforts to restructure the Department of Education under former President Trump’s policies. On July 10, he wrote: “Trump’s attempts to dismantle the Department of Education not only hurts millions of students across the country but blatantly lacks constitutional authority. This month, I joined 170+ of my Democratic colleagues to file an amicus brief challenging these illegal actions.”
In a third post on July 10, Evans thanked Senator Tartaglione for introducing a legislative measure targeting gun conversion devices and highlighted his own related efforts in Congress. He stated: “Thank you, @SenTartaglione, for introducing this critical bill! In Congress, I’m cosponsoring a bill that would combat the trafficking of dangerous gun conversion devices like auto-sears. We can only fight this epidemic through action & partnership at all levels of government!”
Dwight Evans was born in Philadelphia in 1954 and continues to reside there. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from La Salle University in 1975.
