Congressman Dwight Evans, who represents Pennsylvania’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress, recently used his social media platform to announce community events and comment on legislative matters.
On August 4, 2025, Evans posted about a local event in West Philadelphia: “TODAY in West Philly from 4:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.! You can RSVP at https://t.co/d1vb8Ocb9f https://t.co/RRFQqPLHwu”. The following day, he made a similar announcement for South Philadelphia: “TODAY in South Philly from 4:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.!
You can RSVP at https://t.co/r2ZUYZdKnx https://t.co/XjGUb2L1fD” (August 5, 2025).
Later on August 5, Evans addressed national policy issues with another post criticizing recent legislative developments related to prescription drug prices and tax cuts: “HIGHER prescription-drug prices for you, while billionaires get another tax cut –
that’s why I voted NO on the new Republican budget law & why I’m co-sponsoring @RepLindaSanchez’s bill to #TakeHisKeys & return tariff authority to Congress, where the Constitution says it belongs.”
Evans has served as the representative for Pennsylvania’s 3rd district since replacing Chaka Fattah in 2016. Prior to his time in Congress, he was a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 1981 to 2016. Born in Philadelphia in 1954 and currently residing there, Evans is also an alumnus of La Salle University, graduating with a BA in 1975.
