Congressman Dwight Evans, who represents Pennsylvania’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress, has recently posted a series of messages on his social media accounts addressing legislative efforts to protect Social Security data and calling for congressional action on gun violence.
On August 27, 2025, Evans wrote: “This is exactly why I’m a co-sponsor of @RepJohnLarson’s Protecting Americans’ Social Security Data Act (H.R. 1877)! House Democrats are fighting to protect hard-working Americans against the reckless, corrupt Trump administration. Where are House Republicans?”
Later that day, he addressed gun violence and urged legislative action. On August 27, 2025, Evans stated: “Let’s honor these victims, and all victims of gun violence – with ACTION. We cannot leave gun crime out of plans to get tough and smart on crime, including updating our laws where necessary. Congress CAN act – and must act. These children should still be alive!”
On August 28, 2025, Evans posted a brief message accompanied by a target emoji: “”
Evans has represented Pennsylvania’s 3rd District in Congress since replacing Chaka Fattah in 2016. Prior to his service in Congress, he served in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 1981 to 2016. Born in Philadelphia in 1954 and currently residing there, Evans graduated from La Salle University with a BA in 1975.
