Congressman Dwight Evans, who represents Pennsylvania’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress, recently addressed several national issues and upcoming elections through a series of posts on his official Twitter account.
On November 3, 2025, Evans commented on the recent activity in the House of Representatives under Speaker Johnson. He wrote, “Under Speaker Johnson’s leadership, House Republicans have *checks notes* been on a paid vacation for the last 45 days…”.
Later that evening, he highlighted concerns about food assistance for Americans, stating on November 3, 2025: “Meanwhile, this weekend, 42 million Americans missed their November SNAP food assistance because of the Trump administration’s cruel and illegal actions.”
In another post on November 4, 2025, Evans reminded constituents about Election Day and encouraged voter participation. He said: “#ElectionDay is tomorrow! Your vote is your voice- especially in PA where three state Supreme Court justices are on the ballot. Polls are open from 7AM to 8PM! Visit https://t.co/IdkeDTh7IX to find your nearest polling place or where you can drop off your absentee ballot.”
Evans has served as the U.S. Representative for Pennsylvania’s 3rd District since replacing Chaka Fattah in 2016. Before his tenure in Congress, he was a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 1981 to 2016. Born in Philadelphia in 1954 and currently residing there, Evans graduated from La Salle University with a BA in 1975.
