Congressman Dwight Evans, representing Pennsylvania’s 3rd district, has expressed his views on various pressing issues through recent social media posts. Having served in the U.S. Congress since 2016 and previously in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 1981 to 2016, Evans shares insights into legislative processes and international concerns.
On June 4, 2025, Evans reflected on his experience in the Pennsylvania House where most bills required a fiscal note before proceeding to the floor. He commented on a budget passed by the GOP in the U.S. House without full evaluation from the Congressional Budget Office (CBO), stating: “After the CBO’s evaluation, I can see why the GOP rushed this budget through… stripping health care from 16 MILLION Americans &”.
Later that day, Evans addressed violence at aid distribution centers in Gaza. He called for an end to hostilities and emphasized humanitarian needs: “I’m deeply concerned by recent violence at aid distribution centers in Gaza and continue to call for a negotiated ceasefire…”.
On June 5, 2025, he criticized a GOP senator’s dismissive remark about their proposed budget’s impact on vulnerable populations: “One GOP senator’s response to concerns about their cruel, draconian budget? ‘Well, we’re all going to die.'” Evans urged senators not to be influenced by President Trump or House Republicans regarding decisions affecting healthcare and food security.
Evans was born in Philadelphia in 1954 and graduated from La Salle University with a BA in 1975.
