Congressman Dwight Evans criticizes Trump administration and GOP over federal worker firings and health care concerns
Congressman Dwight Evans, who represents Pennsylvania’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of tweets on October 6, 2025, criticizing the Trump administration and congressional Republicans for recent actions affecting federal workers and health care.
In his first post at 16:01 UTC, Evans wrote: “Here’s what’s missing! https://t.co/POfEJgg56q https://t.co/Gw2Judcm70”.
Later that day at 16:43 UTC, he addressed the impact of administrative decisions on federal employees and public services. He stated: “People > Pundits. The Trump administration has spent the last EIGHT months gleefully & publicly firing critical federal workers and cutting the services hard-working Americans rely on – and the GOP majorities in Congress have just enabled it.”
At 18:59 UTC, Evans raised concerns about health insurance premiums. He posted: “Trump and congressional Republicans’ inaction on the looming health-insurance premium cost spike will amount to a SHUTDOWN of health care for 24 million Americans.”
Evans has represented Pennsylvania’s 3rd District since 2016 after replacing Chaka Fattah. Before his tenure in Congress, he served in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 1981 to 2016. Born in Philadelphia in 1954, Evans graduated from La Salle University with a BA in 1975 and continues to reside in Philadelphia.
