Congressman Dwight Evans, who represents Pennsylvania’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress, has recently posted a series of tweets addressing health care premiums, congressional procedures, and economic impacts attributed to tariffs.

On October 6, 2025, Evans wrote: “Two simple truths: 1. Without federal action, starting this fall, millions of Americans will see their health premiums DOUBLE. 2. Speaker Johnson is refusing to swear in Rep.-elect Grijalva, the 218th & final signer needed to force a vote on releasing the Epstein files.”

Later that day, he questioned Republican efforts regarding health care reform by posting: “Is this what it means for Republicans to work around the clock to ‘fix’ health care?” (October 6, 2025).

The following morning, Evans commented on rising consumer prices in Philadelphia: “Philadelphians are seeing higher prices at coffee shops and grocery stores when grabbing their morning brew. A big reason why: Trump’s reckless tariffs – and congressional Republicans’ refusals to take back Congress’ tariff power. #Trumpflation” (October 7, 2025).

Evans has represented Pennsylvania’s 3rd District since replacing Chaka Fattah in 2016 and previously served in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 1981 until his election to Congress. Born in Philadelphia in 1954 and a graduate of La Salle University with a BA earned in 1975, Evans continues to reside in his hometown while serving as an advocate for local and national issues.
