Congressman Dwight Evans, who represents Pennsylvania’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress, used his social media platform this week to criticize the Trump administration and Congressional Republicans over issues related to affordability and federal assistance programs.
On November 6, 2025, Evans posted: “This is disgusting. If the Trump administration WANTED to fully fund November SNAP benefits, they could and would.”
The following day, on November 7, he addressed rising costs for Americans in a separate post: “From utility bills to grocery prices to health care costs — across the board, life is getting more expensive for everyday Americans. And Trump’s message is ‘I don’t want to hear about affordability.'”
Later that same day, Evans highlighted concerns over increased health care premiums in Pennsylvania due to policy decisions by former President Trump and Congressional Republicans: “Because of Trump and Congressional Republicans’ refusal to extend ACA tax credits, Pennsylvanians are seeing their health care costs more than double! If YOU are seeing your premiums increase this Pennie open enrollment season — I want to hear from you! Share your price”
Evans has represented Pennsylvania’s 3rd District since 2016 after succeeding Chaka Fattah. Prior to his congressional service, he was a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 1981 until 2016. Born in Philadelphia in 1954 and a graduate of La Salle University with a BA in 1975, Evans continues to reside in Philadelphia as he serves his constituents.
