Congressman Dwight Evans, who represents Pennsylvania’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress, recently posted a series of tweets addressing national political issues related to COVID-19 vaccines and Social Security.

On September 3, 2025, Evans questioned former President Donald Trump’s position regarding Robert F. Kennedy Jr., writing: “How long will Trump tolerate RFK blocking him from touting ‘one of the greatest achievements’ of his first term? Because ‘behind closed doors, Trump continues to lament he can’t take more credit for the Covid vaccine…'”

Later that evening, Evans criticized Trump’s nominee for overseeing Social Security cost-of-living adjustments: “Trump’s choice to set Social Security’s cost-of-living adjustments has called for sunsetting this life-saving program. I think his nomination should be sunset! Social Security is not a political game to be messed with- it is an EARNED BENEFIT.” This post highlights concerns about proposed changes to the federal retirement program.

In another tweet on September 3, Evans commented on new policies by Secretary Kennedy concerning COVID-19 vaccines: “Secretary Kennedy’s new, unwarranted COVID-19 vaccine restrictions, are unnecessarily confusing and, simply put, dangerous. Vaccines are safe and save lives. Let’s be clear- none of these policies will ‘Make America Healthy Again.’”

Evans has represented Pennsylvania’s 3rd District since 2016 after serving in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for over three decades. He was born in Philadelphia in 1954 and holds a BA from La Salle University.
