Congressman Dwight Evans, who represents Pennsylvania’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress, has recently posted a series of tweets addressing former President Donald Trump’s policies and their impact on American families.
On August 19, 2025, Evans posted: “1. Slavery was bad. 2. Elementary-school students can understand that. Why doesn’t Trump? 3. Does he think releasing the Epstein files is too “WOKE”? Did Trump forget he promised to lower prices and inflation, too?”
The following day, August 20, Evans criticized Trump’s tariff policies in another tweet: “Thanks to Trump’s reckless tariff taxes, this year Philly families are paying on average 7.3% more for school supplies. House Democrats have a bill to #TakeHisKeys & return tariff authority back to Congress. How high will prices go before House Republicans join?”
He also directed readers to further information about rising costs in a separate post on August 20: “Learn more about the higher costs at https://t.co/0moc7gp8mO”
Evans has served as the representative for Pennsylvania’s 3rd District since 2016 after succeeding Chaka Fattah and previously held office in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 1981 to 2016. Born in Philadelphia in 1954 and currently residing there, Evans is an alumnus of La Salle University.
