Congressman Dwight Evans, representing Pennsylvania’s 3rd district, recently shared a series of tweets addressing various topics. Evans has been serving in the U.S. Congress since 2016 after succeeding Chaka Fattah and has a long history of public service, having previously served in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 1981 to 2016.
On May 22, 2025, Congressman Evans tweeted about what he perceives as an excessive expenditure related to aviation costs: “More than double the value of the plane – at YOUR expense!”
The following day, on May 23, Evans commemorated Jewish American Heritage Month by encouraging recognition and celebration of Jewish Americans’ contributions: “May is Jewish American Heritage Month! This month and every month, let us honor and celebrate the rich heritage and legacy of Jewish Americans in Philadelphia and beyond.”
Later that same day, Congressman Evans reflected on his legislative work regarding food accessibility. He expressed pride in his role in establishing a state program that inspired the national Healthy Food Financing Initiative: “I was proud to play a leading role as a state legislator in creating the PA program that became the model for the national Healthy Food Financing Initiative. I continue to believe that food is medicine, and that every American should have access to affordable, healthy food.”
