Congressman Dwight Evans, who represents Pennsylvania’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress, has recently shared updates on his work and advocacy through a series of posts on social media.
On July 23, 2025, Evans highlighted his engagement with young constituents: “Today I was happy to speak with WesGold Fellows about my work as a member of Congress and the importance of being politically engaged and saving for their future! These hard-working students continue to inspire me and I’m proud to represent many of them in Congress!”
The following day, July 24, 2025, he addressed economic issues facing American workers: “It’s long past time to raise the federal minimum wage! $7.25/ hour is simply not a livable wage. I voted to raise the minimum wage when I was in the PA Legislature and proudly continue to support this fight in Congress as a co-sponsor of the #RaiseTheWage Act!”
On July 25, 2025, Evans commented on disability rights legislation: “Tomorrow, we mark 35 years of the Americans with Disabilities Act! As Trump & congressional Republicans continue to roll back this vital progress, making it more difficult for individuals with disabilities to access critical services- we know the fight for equity is far from”
Evans has represented Pennsylvania’s 3rd district since replacing Chaka Fattah in 2016. Prior to his tenure in Congress, he served in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 1981 until 2016. Born in Philadelphia in 1954 and currently residing there, Evans graduated from La Salle University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1975.
