Congressman Dwight Evans, who represents Pennsylvania’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress, posted several updates on social media between August 8 and August 10, 2025.
On August 8, Evans questioned the president regarding recent data by posting: “Has the president seen these new numbers?” (August 8, 2025).
Later that day, he expressed appreciation for an intern in his Philadelphia office and encouraged applications for upcoming internships: “Thank you to my district office intern, Uzo, for your hard work in Philadelphia this summer! If you’re interested in interning in my Philly or DC office this fall, the deadline to apply has been extended to August 15! Learn more about how to apply here:” (August 8, 2025).
On August 10, Evans commented on political dynamics within Pennsylvania’s Senate and the economic impact of southeastern Pennsylvania: “Without their 3 SE PA members, Senate Republicans wouldn’t have a majority. And if they damage PA’s largest economic engine (SE PA), they will shrink the pie & there will be less money to spend on their own districts’ needs. /1” (August 10, 2025).
Evans has represented Pennsylvania’s 3rd District since succeeding Chaka Fattah in Congress in 2016. Prior to his congressional service, he was a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 1981 through 2016. Born and raised in Philadelphia in 1954 and a graduate of La Salle University with a BA earned in 1975, Evans continues to reside in Philadelphia.
