Congressman Dwight Evans, who represents Pennsylvania’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress, recently updated constituents on community outreach events and an ongoing congressional inquiry via his official Twitter account.
On August 12, 2025, Evans expressed gratitude for participation in a local event: “Thank you to everyone who joined us in Roxborough for my pop-up constituent services event- including @RepTarik! Next week, Team Evans will be in Nicetown and at the Philadelphia Zoo’s Summer Community night, then in Point Breeze the following week!” He followed this by inviting residents to seek assistance with federal agencies: “Stop by and see Team Evans this summer if you need help with a federal agency! View our full schedule here:”
On August 13, 2025, Evans addressed concerns about a local business owner detained by immigration authorities: “I and my office are aware of ICE’s detention of Anou Vongbandith, a Germantown business owner, and are working with Mrs. Vongbandith. We have initiated a formal congressional inquiry into his status and the other concerns expressed by his family, and will continue to follow up”.
Evans has represented Pennsylvania’s 3rd District since 2016 after succeeding Chaka Fattah. Before serving in Congress, he was a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 1981 to 2016. Born in Philadelphia in 1954 and currently residing there, Evans is also an alumnus of La Salle University.
