Dr. Samantha P. Flanagan, DO, Assistant Professor of Clinical Family and Community Medicine at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University, was interviewed by Self for an article about the health effects of drinking. Dr. Flanagan discussed the recommended guidelines for alcohol consumption and cautioned that mocktails may not be as healthy as some believe.
“There are a lot of hidden sugars in many mocktails,” said Dr. Flanagan in her interview with Self.
She also noted that while mocktails can provide an alternative to alcoholic beverages, individuals should still be aware of their ingredients and nutritional content.
