Congressman Dwight Evans, who represents Pennsylvania’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress, used his social media platform on February 6, 2026, to criticize former President Donald Trump for recent remarks and economic policies.

In a post published at 17:30 UTC, Evans wrote: “Donald Trump is a bigoted, small-minded man who has long spewed racist remarks and tried to whitewash our nation’s history. Today he finds a new low.

His recent post is vile, disgusting, and abhorrently racist. Every elected official should speak up and condemn this hate.”

Later that day at 21:57 UTC, Evans commented on the economic impact of Trump’s administration, stating: “Donald Trump said he would lower prices on “day one.”

But more than a year into his second term, new data shows his reckless economic policies and tariff-taxes have cost Philly families $2,020 — that’s over $168 a month! https://t.co/rsTyLrTp5G

He also provided additional resources for constituents to learn about the local effects of national policy in another tweet posted at the same time: “Learn more about the impact of Trump’s cost of living crisis on our community here:

Evans has served as the representative for Pennsylvania’s 3rd District since 2016 after succeeding Chaka Fattah. Prior to his congressional tenure, he was a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 1981 to 2016. Born in Philadelphia in 1954 and an alumnus of La Salle University (class of 1975), Evans continues to reside in Philadelphia while focusing on issues affecting his local community.
