Congressman Dwight Evans, who represents Pennsylvania’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress, expressed concerns on August 7, 2025, regarding the impact of a new budget law backed by former President Trump and congressional Republicans.
In a post made at 19:21 UTC, Evans stated, “Promises made. Promises broken. And it’s hard-working Americans who will pay the price.”
One hour later, he elaborated on his concerns about healthcare coverage in Pennsylvania. He wrote, “Under Trump & congressional Republicans’ new budget law, more than 300,000 Pennsylvanians will lose their health care coverage. If you get coverage through Geisinger Health Plan, Keystone First, or another state-funded managed care organization, these cuts could impact you.” He followed this message with a link for further information: “Learn more here: https://t.co/ouiie9VKb8”
Evans has served in Congress since 2016 after replacing Chaka Fattah and previously held office in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 1981 to 2016. Born in Philadelphia in 1954 and a graduate of La Salle University (1975), Evans continues to reside in Philadelphia while representing his constituents at the federal level.
