Congressman Dwight Evans, who represents Pennsylvania’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress, has used his social media platform to voice concerns over recent actions by the Trump administration and congressional Republicans.

On August 7, 2025, Evans criticized what he described as anti-union measures by the Trump administration, stating: “Our veterans have proudly served our nation and defended our freedom. This union-busting by the Trump administration is a direct attack on workers’ rights and will make it harder for veterans to receive the benefits and care they have earned.” The following day, he reiterated his stance alongside fellow Democrats in Congress: “In Congress, alongside my @HouseDemocrats colleagues, I will continue to fight against these devastating actions by President Trump & work to keep our sacred promise to care for our veterans when they come home.”

On August 8, 2025, Evans addressed another issue involving congressional Republicans and transparency regarding Jeffrey Epstein files. He wrote: “Not only do congressional Republicans not want to release the Epstein files – they closed Congress to dodge voting on the issue.”

Evans has been a member of Congress since 2016 after succeeding Chaka Fattah. Prior to his tenure in Washington, he served in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 1981 through 2016. Born in Philadelphia in 1954 and an alumnus of La Salle University (class of 1975), Evans has consistently emphasized advocacy for veterans and transparency during his legislative career.
