Congressman Dwight Evans, who represents Pennsylvania’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress, has recently voiced strong criticism of federal budget policies under former President Donald Trump in a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter).
On August 21, 2025, Evans posted: “Under Trump’s budget, people in rich ski-resort towns will see up to 14 more times the tax cuts than the average Philadelphian- cuts paid for by gutting Medicaid & SNAP. I voted against this disaster-ridden law and will keep looking for ways to repeal as much of it as possible!”
Later that day, he addressed food assistance programs: “SNAP food assistance is a lifeline not only for hard-working Philadelphians, but farmers across Pennsylvania. Yet Trump & congressional Republicans’ budget law cuts billions from this program, just to give more tax breaks to the rich. Listen more to the impacts of these cuts”
On August 22, 2025, Evans marked National Immunization Awareness Month with another post: “August is National Immunization Awareness Month. The simple truth is vaccines save lives. While the Trump administration spreads disinformation and cuts funding to critical vaccine research programs, I’m committed to keeping our community healthy!”
Evans has served in Congress since 2016 after replacing Chaka Fattah and previously spent over three decades in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. He was born in Philadelphia in 1954 and continues to reside there. Evans graduated from La Salle University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1975.
