Congressman Dwight Evans, who represents Pennsylvania’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress, has used his social media platform to criticize former President Donald Trump’s economic policies and highlight ongoing disputes over police funding in Washington, D.C.
On August 11, 2025, Evans posted: “More taxes on you, but not on Trump! As hard-working Americans are paying more for everyday items, from food to clothing to appliances, thanks to Trump’s tariffs— the president is keeping gold exempt from his reckless tariff strategy. #LetThemEatTariffs”.
Later that day, he continued his criticism of Trump and Congressional Republicans with another post: “Trump pressured Republicans in Congress to pass his tax cuts for the rich. When will he pressure House Republicans, who have been defunding the DC police for 5 months & counting? They’re blocking DC from using $1 billion of locally raised taxes to fully fund police & other”.
On August 12, 2025, Evans shared a third post containing only links: “https://t.co/sr2Mc1EiMz https://t.co/hmOAajvAbw”.

Born in Philadelphia in 1954 and currently residing there, Evans graduated from La Salle University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1975.
