Congressman Dwight Evans, who represents Pennsylvania’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress, recently used his social media platform to highlight concerns about healthcare and food assistance programs affecting Pennsylvanians and Americans nationwide.
On November 1, 2025, Evans addressed the issue of rising health care premiums at the start of Pennie open enrollment. He stated, “As Pennie open enrollment begins today, hundreds of thousands of Pennsylvanians are seeing their premiums skyrocket or getting priced out of health care coverage altogether. House Democrats want to extend ACA tax credits to STOP this shutdown of health care. Why don’t most https://t.co/RfQrLK86Bv”.
A few days later, on November 3, 2025, Evans turned his attention to food security and federal nutrition programs. He posted: “42 million Americans- including nearly 500,000 Philadelphians- rely on SNAP to put food on the table. That’s why, alongside @CongBoyle, @RepMGS, @RepHarris and @RepKrajewski this morning, I called on the Trump administration to obey federal district court rulings and FULLY fund https://t.co/I1W1NXTSoS”. Shortly after that post he added a link for further information: @CongBoyle @RepMGS @RepHarris @RepKrajewski Learn more: https://t.co/oIpoF8VdV6.
Evans has served in Congress since 2016 after replacing Chaka Fattah and previously held a seat in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 1981 until his election to Congress. Born in Philadelphia in 1954 and a graduate of La Salle University with a BA earned in 1975, Evans continues to reside in Philadelphia while representing constituents from Pennsylvania’s 3rd District.
