On August 15, 2025, Evans reached out to Philadelphia business owners regarding the impact of tariffs imposed by President Trump, writing: “Are you a business owner in #Philly? In addition to seeking feedback from constituents, Evans commented on recent changes in federal energy policy. Evans has served in Congress since replacing Chaka Fattah in 2016 and previously held office in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for over three decades. He was born in Philadelphia in 1954 and graduated from La Salle University with a BA in 1975. As a long-time resident of Philadelphia and representative of its interests at the federal level, Evans frequently addresses economic issues affecting his district’s businesses and workers.
