Congressman Dwight Evans, who represents Pennsylvania’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress, has recently posted a series of messages on social media addressing local business owners and reflecting on federal economic policy.
On August 15, 2025, Evans reached out to Philadelphia business owners regarding the impact of tariffs imposed by President Trump, writing: “Are you a business owner in #Philly? Are President Trump’s costly, unpredictable tariffs affecting you, your business, or your employees? If so, I want to hear from you! Share your story here: https://t.co/kil3o6MMoA”
He continued this outreach on August 18, 2025, with another post: “ICYMI- I still want to hear from you! https://t.co/0vfy1XfHSK”
In addition to seeking feedback from constituents, Evans commented on recent changes in federal energy policy. On August 16, 2025, he stated: “3 years ago, the Inflation Reduction Act, which I proudly voted for, became law. This landmark clean-energy legislation helped create good-paying jobs & lower energy costs. Now as Trump rolls back this progress, hard-working Pennsylvanians are facing higher costs. https://t.co/SQ2mGX5CdT”
Evans has served in Congress since replacing Chaka Fattah in 2016 and previously held office in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for over three decades. He was born in Philadelphia in 1954 and graduated from La Salle University with a BA in 1975. As a long-time resident of Philadelphia and representative of its interests at the federal level, Evans frequently addresses economic issues affecting his district’s businesses and workers.
