Two Philadelphia Eagles fans have been recognized for their standout tailgating traditions at Lincoln Financial Field. The team, in partnership with Pepsi, named Jeffrey Farren and Temple “Hurricane” LaRue as the Pepsi Tailgate MVPs after reviewing numerous applications from fans across the stadium’s parking lots.
Jeffrey Farren, a 37-year Season Ticket Member who hosts his tailgate in Lot F2, began the tradition with his father. After his father’s passing in 2004, Farren continued leading the gatherings. In recent years, he introduced a new menu approach by serving foods from the home cities of opposing teams, sourcing ingredients directly from those locations. Each week also features cheesesteaks to maintain a local connection. Decorations honoring his father are displayed at every event, and Farren’s group keeps photo albums documenting each game and tailgate.
Temple “Hurricane” LaRue hosts his tailgate in Lot H1 and is known for high-quality food offerings such as wings, cheesesteaks, brisket nachos, ribeye steak, specialty fried fish sandwiches, and ice-cold Pepsi. His motto is: “Everyone eats, everyone belongs.”
“Our tailgate is about more than just pregame’ it’s about building community and creating memories,” Hurricane said.
LaRue also serves as DJ Hurricane LaRue during each event by providing live music focused on Philadelphia classics to energize attendees.
“It’s not just about food and drinks’ it’s about the culture, the camaraderie, and the celebration of our team,” Hurricane said. “Fans come for the cheesesteaks and wings, stay for the music and energy, and leave with new friends. We don’t just tailgate’ we set the tone for gameday.” — Written by Matt Ryan
