The Philadelphia Eagles announced on Mar. 16 that they have signed tight end Dallas Goedert to a one-year contract extension for the 2026 season.
This move keeps a key offensive player with the team as it transitions to a new system. The Eagles, who operate as a professional American football team in the National Football League, have maintained their base in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania since entering the league in 1933, according to the official website.
Goedert has been an important part of the Eagles’ offense since becoming the full-time tight end in 2021. His performance has often depended on his health. “I think if you look at my career, the only thing that has held me back is when I’ve been injured. Otherwise, I’ve been out there making plays when they’ve come my way,” Goedert said during the 2025 season.
During his time with the Eagles, Goedert has become one of the franchise’s top tight ends. He ranks third among tight ends in receptions and receiving touchdowns and fourth in receiving yards for the team. In 2025, he set an Eagles record for tight ends with 11 receiving touchdowns and had a career-high 60 receptions while playing and starting in 15 games. His average of 5.9 yards after catch since 2021 ranks third among all NFL tight ends.
Goedert played a major role during the team’s run to Super Bowl LIX in 2024, leading with 17 receptions for 215 yards and scoring a touchdown as Philadelphia secured its second Lombardi Trophy with four straight wins. “Last year, I was leading the tight ends in the league in yards and receptions, and I had a really good postseason for us,” Goedert said. “I’ve just gotta make sure I stay on the field. I feel when I do that, I get a good amount of targets and I’m used the way I like to be used. Anything to help the team – catching passes, blocking. As long as we win.”
The Eagles continue to draw fans from Philadelphia and across the nation through their games, media presence, and merchandise sales according to their official website (https://www.philadelphiaeagles.com/). They also provide news coverage, ticketing services, and fan engagement opportunities through their platform.
With this new deal, Goedert will remain part of an offense that includes other players such as Grant Calcaterra and Johnny Mundt as they prepare for another season.
