Flyers sign Garrett Wilson to two-way contract for remainder of season

The Philadelphia Flyers have signed forward Garrett Wilson to a two-way NHL contract for the rest of the 2025-26 season, General Manager Daniel Briere announced on March 5, 2026. Wilson has been placed on waivers and is set to be assigned to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms in the American Hockey League (AHL).

Wilson, who is 34 years old, has spent parts of six seasons with the Phantoms from 2020 to 2026. He has served as team captain for three seasons after being an alternate captain for three previous years. Over his time with Lehigh Valley, Wilson has played in 338 games and recorded 62 goals and 86 assists for a total of 148 points. In the 2022-23 season, he achieved career highs with 18 goals and 43 points, ranking fourth on the team in both categories. That same season, he led all AHL players with 195 penalty minutes.

This season, Wilson has tallied four goals and twelve assists over fifty-one games with Lehigh Valley and has missed only one game.

Standing at six feet three inches and weighing 218 pounds, Wilson’s professional career spans fifteen seasons across five AHL teams: San Antonio Rampage, Portland Pirates, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, Toronto Marlies, and Lehigh Valley Phantoms. In total across the league, he has played in 751 games and registered 156 goals along with 197 assists.

Wilson is originally from Barrie, Ontario. He was selected by the Florida Panthers as the No.107 overall pick in the fourth round of the NHL Draft in 2009. At the NHL level, he appeared in eighty-four games for both Florida (2013-16) and Pittsburgh Penguins (2018-19), where he scored two goals and added six assists.
