Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia has announced the appointment of Dr. Jason A. Damsker as a Professor. Dr. Damsker is board-certified in medical oncology, hematology, and internal medicine. His academic journey began with bachelor’s degrees in chemistry and classical studies from Cornell University, followed by a medical degree from Hahnemann University School of Medicine, now Drexel University College of Medicine. He completed his internal medicine residency at Temple University Hospital and pursued a fellowship in hematology/oncology at Fox Chase.

Before joining Fox Chase, Dr. Damsker spent over two decades in private practice, focusing on patient care. As an attending hematologist/oncologist with Abington Hematology Oncology Associates, he managed various cancer types. More recently, he worked at Alliance Cancer Specialists where he was the chair of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee and served on the Finance Committee.

In 2021, Dr. Damsker became the chair of Hematology/Oncology at Chestnut Hill Hospital and contributed to educating medical students and residents. His scholarly contributions include overseeing clinical trials and publishing studies in journals such as Clinical Nuclear Medicine, Journal of Immunotherapy, and European Respiratory Journal.

Dr. Damsker actively participates in several professional organizations including the American Medical Association, Pennsylvania Medical Society, American Society of Hematology, American Society of Clinical Oncology, and American College of Physicians where he is a fellow.

Throughout his career, Dr. Damsker has earned recognition for his work including the American Society of Clinical Oncology Merit Award and I.Ginsberg Award for Teaching Excellence during his residency. He has been acknowledged as a Philadelphia magazine Top Doctor since 2018 due to his expertise and compassionate care.
