As the 2025 MLB Draft approaches, anticipation is building for the event set to begin on July 13 in Atlanta during All-Star weekend. The draft coverage will kick off with rounds 1-3 on Sunday at 6 p.m. ET, followed by rounds 4-20 on Monday at 11:30 a.m. ET.

A key storyline involves high school slugger Ethan Holliday, who could join his brother Jackson Holliday as a top pick if selected first overall. However, uncertainty remains as the Washington Nationals have not revealed their choice for the first pick, with Kade Anderson and Seth Hernandez also in contention.

The Angels’ decision at number two is another point of interest. If Anderson is not chosen first, he may be their pick; otherwise, they might consider other prospects like Jamie Arnold or Ike Irish.

High school shortstops dominate this draft class, with six among the top 13 prospects. Conversely, college bats are less represented among top-ranked players but could rise in selection prominence closer to draft day.

This year’s draft features notable twin pairs within the top prospect rankings: JoJo and Jacob Parker from Mississippi and Kyson and Malachi Witherspoon from Oklahoma.

Corona High School in California stands out with four players among the Top 150 prospects. Depending on where they are picked, these players could make history for their school.

Tennessee’s baseball program may see a record number of draftees this year following its successful season. Meanwhile, Hawaii could celebrate two first-round selections for the first time if Aiva Arquette and Wehiwa Aloy are chosen early.

MLB Pipeline provides comprehensive coverage of these developments through scouting reports and analysis available on their platforms.
