Maslouskaya sets heptathlon school record at Spec Towns Invitational

Freshman Yuliya Maslouskaya broke the school record in the women’s heptathlon during day two of the Spec Towns Invitational at Georgia, according to an April 10 announcement.

Maslouskaya achieved a total of 5,389 points in the event. She recorded personal-best times in the 110-meter hurdles (14.49 seconds), 200 meters (25.44 seconds), and 800 meters (2:13.05), finishing second overall.

Amelia Kristen finished fourth in the heptathlon with a score of 5,259 points. Kristen won the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 13.94 seconds, placed second in both the 200 meters (24.89) and the 800 meters (2:11.31). Her performance ranks third all-time in program history.

Other notable results include Vinay Raman winning the men’s 800 meters with a personal-best time of 1:48.76, placing him seventh on Penn’s all-time list for that event. Ryan Matulonis finished second in the men’s 400-meter hurdles and now holds second place on Penn’s all-time list for that event as well.

In field events, Atticus Soehren placed fifth in men’s javelin throw with a mark of 58.72 meters, while Madison Knier finished sixth among women with a throw of 46.11 meters.

The Quakers are scheduled to begin day three of competition at Franklin Field at 11:30 a.m., featuring Angeludi Asaah and Jessica Oji competing in women’s shot put.
