The 2025 MLB Draft is set to begin on Sunday, with teams still evaluating potential first-round picks. The draft, presented by Nike, will take place over two days. Day one will cover rounds 1-3 and starts at 6 p.m. ET, while day two will include rounds 4-20 starting at 11:30 a.m. ET.

Speculation continues about the top picks. The Washington Nationals are considering Kade Anderson from Louisiana State and Ethan Holliday from Stillwater High School for their first pick. “We both put the odds for Anderson to be taken at 50 percent, Holliday at 40,” it was stated in the recent MLB Pipeline Podcast.

The Los Angeles Angels may select Liam Doyle from Tennessee or Jamie Arnold if Anderson is unavailable. Meanwhile, the Seattle Mariners are eyeing Seth Hernandez from Corona High School as a likely choice.

Ethan Holliday might be picked by the Colorado Rockies if he remains available by their turn. The St. Louis Cardinals are interested in Eli Willits and possibly other prep shortstops like JoJo Parker or Billy Carlson.

Aiva Arquette is a potential target for the Pittsburgh Pirates, while Billy Carlson could go to the Miami Marlins if they don’t secure Willits.

The Toronto Blue Jays might focus on Jamie Arnold unless he’s already picked, in which case Kyson Witherspoon would be considered.

Other notable prospects include Ike Irish for the Cincinnati Reds and JoJo Parker for the Chicago White Sox. Teams continue to evaluate options based on availability and needs as they prepare for Sunday’s event.
