The University of Pennsylvania softball team ended its 2026 home season on April 26 with a 12-1 loss to the Columbia Lions.

The game was notable for Jade Montgomery, who broke the Penn single season record for doubles by hitting her 16th and 17th two-baggers of the year. Montgomery’s achievement marked a highlight in an otherwise difficult outing for the Quakers.

Hannah Graveline drove in Penn’s only run with a base hit in the fourth inning, bringing Montgomery home. Despite collecting seven hits during the game, Penn struggled to contain Columbia’s offense, which scored consistently throughout the early innings.

The Quakers remain fourth in the Ivy League standings, keeping them in contention for a postseason spot. The team will conclude its regular season with an away series against Brown, where both teams are competing for a place in the Ivy League Tournament.

Looking ahead, Penn faces crucial games that will determine their postseason fate.
