The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) has announced the recipients of its 2024-25 academic awards, recognizing men’s college basketball teams and student-athletes for their classroom achievements.
The NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards are given to programs that finished the academic year with a team GPA of 3.0 or higher. The NABC Honors Court acknowledges junior, senior, and graduate student players who achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher during the same period.
This year, Penn College was recognized with five student-athletes named to the NABC Honors Court: recent graduates Reese McMullen and George Smith, along with rising seniors Ethan Roberts, Christian Ubochi, and Michael Zanoni. Additionally, Penn was one of five Ivy League programs to receive the Team Academic Excellence Award alongside Columbia, Harvard, Princeton, and Yale.
In total, more than 2,400 players were named to the NABC Honors Court and nearly 400 programs received Team Academic Excellence Awards for the 2024-25 academic year.
