The University of Pennsylvania gymnastics team finished second at the Temple quad meet in North Philadelphia, recording a total score of 195.075. Maryland led the event with a 195.900, while Towson and Temple followed with scores of 195.000 and 194.450, respectively.
On vault, sophomore Maggie Murphy achieved a personal best of 9.825, surpassing her previous top mark of 9.800. Marissa Lassiter contributed the next highest Penn score on this apparatus with a 9.750.
During the bars rotation, both senior Marissa Lassiter and junior Jordan Barrow scored 9.800s to lead their team, while Sophia Paris posted a solid performance with a 9.725.
For the beam event, junior Jordan Barrow earned a score of 9.850, marking her third consecutive meet achieving at least that figure on beam after posting a 9.900 in her previous appearance. Manama Fofana concluded her night on beam with a score of 9.800.
The Quakers began the competition on floor exercise where seniors Alyssa Rosen and Marissa Lassiter each received scores of 9.750, while Murphy, Fofana, and freshman Ava Hooten all notched scores of 9.800.
Murphy’s new career-high vault score marks her third time this year setting a personal record in that event.
Penn’s run at the meet also capped off what is now their longest win streak in program history—19 consecutive victories to start the season.
Next for Penn gymnastics is participation in the Unite for Her Pink Invitational Meet at the Philadelphia Convention Center against Rutgers, West Chester, and Yale.
