The University of Pennsylvania gymnastics team secured its fifth straight Gymnastics East Conference (GEC) regular season title, the conference announced on Mar. 16.

This achievement marks a historic moment for the Quakers, who set a new program record with 23 wins in a single regular season, surpassing their previous best of 22 victories set in 2012. The team completed the regular season undefeated against Ivy League opponents with a 7-0 record and maintained a perfect 13-0 record against other GEC programs. Penn currently holds the #38 spot in the Road to Nationals rankings, which would be its highest-ever finish if maintained.

Head Coach Kirsten Becker said, “I am so proud of our team this season to earn the regular season title. Throughout the season, we primarily focused on consistency both in practice and competition and I was very proud to see the follow-through to accomplish this. We’re hoping to showcase this on Saturday for the GEC Championship!”

With two out of three components needed for what is described as the “treble,” Penn now looks ahead to competing at the GEC Championship this weekend in Ithaca, New York. The championship event will determine if they can complete their pursuit of all major conference honors this year.
