The University of Pennsylvania women’s golf team will participate in the Rutgers Invitational on April 11 and 12, marking its final competition before the upcoming Ivy League Championship. The event is set to take place over two days at the par-71 Rutgers Golf Course in Piscataway, New Jersey, with a total of 16 teams scheduled to compete.
This tournament provides an opportunity for Penn to assess its performance and make any necessary adjustments before heading into the championship. The invitational features both Ivy League teams—Dartmouth and Penn—and several non-Ivy schools including host Rutgers, UAlbany, Boston University, Bucknell, FDU, Georgetown, Iona, Lehigh, Monmouth, Quinnipiac, Sacred Heart, Saint Francis (Pa.), St. John’s and Seton Hall.
According to information released by the university on April 10, play will begin each day with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start. Saturday’s format includes two rounds totaling 36 holes while Sunday will feature one round of 18 holes. Live scoring for the event will be available through Clippd.com.
Penn’s lineup for this tournament consists of Julie Shin (senior), Mi Li (first-year), Maggie Ni (junior), Adrienne Ahn-Upton (first-year), and Claire Lu (sophomore). Bridget O’Keefe (senior) will also represent Penn as an individual competitor.
As teams prepare for their final test before conference championships begin later this month, results from this weekend may offer insight into potential contenders for the Ivy League title.
