Matt Valenti, head coach of Penn Quakers Men’s Wrestling, announced the hiring of Lennox Wolak as an assistant coach. The announcement was made on Tuesday in Philadelphia.
Valenti stated, “Lennox brings valuable experience from his time as a high-level student-athlete that will help him as he launches his college coaching career. We are so excited to have him join our staff and know that he will have an immediate impact on our program.”
Wolak has experience competing in the Ivy League, having wrestled for four years at Columbia University at 174 pounds. In his final season with Columbia, he won the 174-pound EIWA title and finished sixth at the 2024 NCAA Wrestling Championships, earning All-America honors.
“I’m excited to get to Philadelphia and get to work,” said Wolak. “The coaching staff brings a wealth of experience that I’m eager to learn from and contribute to. Penn wrestling has a rich tradition of success, and with the support and leadership in place, I’m looking forward to helping build on that legacy.”
After completing his undergraduate career at Columbia, Wolak used his final year of eligibility at Virginia Tech. There, he qualified for the NCAA Championships for the third time in his career and advanced to the Round of 12 at 174 pounds.
Wolak is originally from Columbus, Ohio. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Columbia University and a Master of Science in Business Administration from Virginia Tech. While with Virginia Tech’s wrestling program, he also received NWCA Academic All-America honors.
