The University of Pennsylvania’s wrestling team, currently ranked 23rd nationally, will travel to New England this weekend for two Ivy League matches. The Quakers will face Brown University on Saturday, January 31 at noon in Providence, Rhode Island, followed by a match against Harvard University on Sunday, February 1 at 1 p.m. in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Both matches will be available for viewing on ESPN+.

Penn enters the weekend with a 4-1 overall record and is seeking its first Ivy League win after falling to Columbia last weekend. Against Columbia, Evan Mougalian (133 lbs), CJ Composto (141 lbs), Cross Wasilewski (149 lbs), and Jude Swisher secured individual victories for Penn. Senior CJ Composto and sophomore Cross Wasilewski remain undefeated in dual meets this season.

In their series with Brown, Penn holds a six-meet winning streak. Last season, the Quakers defeated the Bears 37-6 at home and previously recorded a 39-0 shutout during their last visit to Providence—the largest margin of victory in series history. Brown has not beaten Penn since the 2017-18 season.

Against Harvard, Penn has won the last twelve meetings and shut out the Crimson 43-0 in their most recent contest. Harvard’s last victory over Penn came during the 2011-12 season.

Six members of Penn’s lineup are currently ranked by Intermat and FloWrestling: Composto (#7 at 141 lbs), Wasilewski (#8 at 149 lbs), Mougalian (#14 at 133 lbs), Swisher (#13 at 157 lbs), Sean Seefeldt (#20 at 165 lbs), and Davis Motyka (#29 at 125 lbs).

Brown is coming off four consecutive losses, including defeats to #22 Cornell and Binghamton last weekend. Max Norman (165 lbs), Andrew Reall (197 lbs—ranked #22 by Intermat), and Alex Semeneko (285 lbs—ranked #28) were standouts for Brown against Cornell.

Harvard split its most recent matches, losing to #22 Cornell but defeating Binghamton. Logan Brzozowski (125 lbs), Coleman Nogle (133 lbs), and Hudson Skove (197 lbs) earned wins for Harvard against Cornell. Jimmy Harrington is Harvard’s only wrestler ranked by Intermat (#23 at 157 lbs).

Penn’s probable lineup includes Davis Motyka (#29) at 125 pounds; either Evan Mougalian (#14) or Deven Casey at 133; CJ Composto (#7) at 141; Cross Wasilewski (#8) at 149; either Jude Swisher (#13) or Wyatt Stout at 157; Sean Seefeldt (#20) at 165; Caden Bellis or Lance Urbas at 174; Greyson Meak or Liam Carlin at 184; Martin Cosgrove at 197; and either John Pardo or John Vinciguerra at heavyweight.
