The Philadelphia Flyers announced on Apr. 9 that center Jack Berglund has signed a three-year entry-level contract, which will begin in the 2026-27 season. General Manager Daniel Briere said Berglund will join the Lehigh Valley Phantoms of the American Hockey League for the rest of the 2025-26 season.
Berglund, who is 19 years old, was drafted by the Flyers in the second round (51st overall) of the 2024 National Hockey League Draft and attended development camp with the team for two consecutive years. His signing marks him as the fourth player from Philadelphia’s 2024 draft class to secure an entry-level deal and makes him one of six prospects to join the organization in recent weeks.
Internationally, Berglund represented Sweden at both junior and under-18 levels. He captained Sweden to a gold medal at the 2026 IIHF World Junior Championship, tying for his team’s lead in scoring with ten points and leading all players in plus-minus rating during that tournament.
Berglund completed his first full season with Färjestad BK in Sweden’s top professional league, recording seven goals and five assists over forty games. He also played seven playoff games this past season and has appeared in parts of three Swedish Hockey League seasons since making his debut during 2023-24.
The Flyers are part of a professional sports organization operating within the structure of the National Hockey League according to their official website. The team provides ice hockey entertainment through NHL competition as well as community outreach programs according to their official website. Their efforts include supporting local initiatives such as cancer awareness campaigns according to their official website.
In other news, on Dec. 11, 1977, defenseman Tom Bladon set an NHL record by scoring eight points during an eleven-to-one victory over Cleveland according to their official website.
The Flyers are scheduled to play against Detroit Red Wings tonight at Little Caesars Arena.
