Kevin McGonigle was recognized as the top prospect in the 2025 Arizona Fall League season, earning Most Valuable Player honors. McGonigle, ranked second on MLB Pipeline’s Top 100 Prospects list and the Tigers’ top prospect, strengthened his reputation as a leading hitter in Minor League Baseball.
This year’s Fall League featured fewer Top 100 prospects than usual, with only eight making the annual ranking. Some notable prospects such as Dodgers outfielder Josue De Paula, Rangers shortstop Sebastian Walcott, and Reds right-hander Rhett Lowder did not play enough to qualify due to injuries or limited appearances.
Despite this, the league showcased several future Major Leaguers. The pitching talent improved compared to previous years in the 2020s, but offensive players still had an advantage; teams averaged 6.13 runs per game.
The rankings focused on long-term value and included input from scouts who attended games. For example, McGonigle batted .362/.500/.710 and led the league in extra-base hits (12) and total bases (49), finishing second in home runs (five) and runs scored (22). He was also third in slugging percentage and OPS (1.210).
Other notable prospects included Braden Montgomery of Glendale (CWS No. 1/MLB No. 35), Alfredo Duno of Peoria (CIN No. 2/MLB No. 48), Charlie Condon of Salt River (COL No. 2/MLB No. 61), and Hagen Smith of Glendale (CWS No. 5/MLB No. 88). Each displayed strengths ranging from power hitting to pitching velocity.
Dante Nori, a first-round pick by the Philadelphia Phillies in 2024, was listed at number nineteen on the rankings despite dealing with a leg injury during the season. Nori hit .308/.386/.436, made consistent line-drive contact, and demonstrated above-average speed that contributed both offensively and defensively in center field.
The full list covered a range of positions and organizations across Major League Baseball, highlighting players for their performances during the Fall League campaign as well as their projected future contributions at higher levels.
