As the Philadelphia Phillies prepare for Spring Training, the team will travel to Clearwater, Florida next week to begin preparations for the 2026 season. The organization aims to build on its World Series ambitions as camp opens.
Pitchers and catchers are scheduled for their first workout on February 11 at Carpenter Complex. The full squad will join for workouts starting February 16. The Phillies have used BayCare Ballpark as their Spring Training home since 2004 and have been based in Clearwater since 1947. Prior to games, players train at the adjacent Carpenter Complex, which features four fields named after notable Phillies figures: Mike Schmidt, Steve Carlton, Robin Roberts, and Richie Ashburn.
Fans are welcome to attend workouts free of charge. Sessions generally start mid-to-late morning and continue into early afternoon.
This offseason saw several roster changes. Outfielder Adolis GarcÃa was signed with expectations he will be the starting right fielder in 2026. The bullpen added Brad Keller on a two-year contract worth $22 million and Jonathan Bowlan via a trade involving Matt Strahm. Other new relievers competing for roles include Chase Shugart, Zach Pop, Zach McCambley, Yoniel Curet, and Kyle Backhus.
Top prospects Aidan Miller (ranked No. 23 by MLB Pipeline), Andrew Painter (No. 28), and Justin Crawford (No. 53) have all been invited to Major League camp this spring. Painter is expected to compete for a spot in the Opening Day rotation while Crawford is considered a leading candidate for center field.
The Phillies open Grapefruit League play against the Blue Jays on February 21 at TD Ballpark in Dunedin at 1 p.m. ET. Their first home game is scheduled for February 22 against the Pirates at BayCare Ballpark at 1 p.m. ET. A notable exhibition match against Team Canada will take place March 4 as part of preparations for the World Baseball Classic.
Spring Breakout games will feature top prospects from across Major League organizations; Philadelphia will play two such games—March 19 against Twins prospects in Fort Myers and March 21 versus Blue Jays prospects in Clearwater.
NBC Sports Philadelphia usually broadcasts about twelve home games each spring; details are yet to be announced this year. Most road games can be heard on SportsRadio 94WIP or streamed via MLB.com.
The final Spring Training game is set for March 23 against the Rays at noon ET at BayCare Ballpark. No additional exhibitions are planned before Opening Day, when the Phillies host the Rangers at Citizens Bank Park on March 26 at 4:15 p.m. ET.
