Several top prospects across Minor League Baseball delivered notable performances on August 5, 2025. Among them was Aidan Miller, the Philadelphia Phillies’ second-ranked prospect and MLB’s No. 18 overall prospect, who had a standout night for Double-A Reading.
After spending much of the season as one of the youngest players in the Double-A Eastern League, Miller has become one of its most productive hitters. The 21-year-old recorded his fourth three-hit game of the year, highlighted by a solo home run—his ninth of the season. Over his current seven-game hitting streak, Miller has posted a .423 batting average and reached base 16 times, resulting in a 1.131 OPS.

Other prospects also made an impact on Tuesday. Jonah Tong, ranked No. 2 in the Mets organization and No. 52 overall by MLB Pipeline, struck out eight batters over five scoreless innings for Double-A Binghamton. He leads all Minor Leaguers with 154 strikeouts in 97 innings this season and holds a league-best ERA of 1.58.
In Triple-A Norfolk, Baltimore Orioles prospects Samuel Basallo and Dylan Beavers each homered again after combining for three home runs two days earlier. Basallo now leads all primary catchers in the Minors with 22 home runs this season.
Milwaukee Brewers prospects Luis Peña and Jesús Made contributed at High-A Wisconsin; Peña hit a solo home run off a left-handed pitcher in his first at-bat while Made added an RBI triple later in the game.
Kaelen Culpepper and Walker Jenkins from Double-A Wichita continued to produce offensively for Minnesota Twins affiliates. Culpepper hit a three-run homer while Jenkins followed with a solo shot in back-to-back at-bats.
Bryce Eldridge, San Francisco Giants’ top prospect at first base, homered for Sacramento for the third consecutive game and now has eight home runs over his last thirteen games.
Nolan McLean (New York Mets) allowed just one hit over nearly six innings while striking out seven for Triple-A Syracuse. Dakota Jordan (San Francisco Giants) recorded his first career multi-homer game for Single-A San Jose after returning from an off day.
Abimelec Ortiz made his Triple-A debut with Round Rock (Texas Rangers), driving in eight runs on two three-run homers—both against left-handed pitchers—continuing his strong offensive stretch since being promoted from Double-A.
These performances highlight several young players making significant progress within their organizations as they advance through Minor League levels.
