Philadelphia Phillies prospect Dante Nori recorded an inside-the-park home run during the Arizona Fall League, circling the bases in 14.76 seconds. The play occurred during Surprise’s 8-0 win over Salt River at Salt River Fields.
Nori’s hit traveled 414 feet and bounced off the top of the right-center-field fence, remaining in play. As Nori reached second base, he relied on Surprise manager and third-base coach Jesus Azuaje for guidance on whether to attempt for home. “Halfway to third, I look up and I see Skip giving me the round, so I was like, ‘Let’s try it,'” Nori said.
He slid safely under the relay throw at home plate, completing his run in a time that is among the fastest recorded since 2019 for inside-the-park home runs. Only Boston’s Jarren Duran posted a faster time during the 2025 Major League season with 14.71 seconds.
Nori has built a reputation more for his speed than power hitting. In 125 regular-season games across Single-A Clearwater, High-A Jersey Shore, and Double-A Reading this season, he had 127 hits but only four home runs. He tied for third in all Minor Leagues with 12 triples and ranked second in stolen bases within the Phillies’ system with 52 steals.
Reflecting on his year, Nori said: “You know, I was very satisfied with the year I had. Three levels in one year, [my] first [full] professional year, so it was a success by itself alone. To finish out here just playing with the boys and just having some fun was very important to me to finish the year strong.”
Nori began his season at spring camp in Clearwater, Florida in February and continued playing despite being sidelined by a minor injury early in the Fall League.
