Dante Nori, the Philadelphia Phillies’ No. 6 prospect, delivered a standout performance in his fifth game since joining High-A Jersey Shore. Nori recorded four hits and stole four bases, reaching base in all five of his plate appearances. This marks his third four-hit game of the season and sets a new personal best for stolen bases in a single game. The outfielder was selected by Philadelphia as their first-round pick in 2024 (27th overall). He is currently batting .271 with a .372 on-base percentage and has successfully stolen 47 bases in 54 attempts across two Minor League levels.
“Playing in just his fifth game since his promotion to High-A Jersey Shore, Nori erupted for arguably his best performance as a pro. Philadelphia’s first-round pick in 2024 (27th overall) tallied his third four-hit game of the season and swiped a career-high four bases while reaching safely in all five plate appearances. Nori has put together a solid first full season as a pro, batting .271 with a .372 OBP and 47 stolen bases in 54 attempts across two Minor League levels,” according to the organization.
Other notable performances around Minor League Baseball included strong outings from several pitching prospects. Thomas White of Pensacola (Miami Marlins), Hagen Smith of Birmingham (Chicago White Sox), Quinn Mathews of Memphis (St. Louis Cardinals), Sam Aldegheri of Rocket City (Los Angeles Angels), Brandon Sproat of Syracuse (New York Mets), and Brendan Beck of Scranton/Wilkes-Barre (New York Yankees) each delivered scoreless or near-scoreless starts.
White, ranked No. 21 overall among MLB prospects, struck out ten batters over five hitless innings for Double-A Pensacola, lowering his ERA to 1.59 through ten starts at that level this season.
Smith pitched five scoreless innings with eight strikeouts for Double-A Birmingham, while Mathews allowed just two hits over more than five innings for Triple-A Memphis.
Aldegheri completed eight shutout frames without issuing any walks for Double-A Rocket City.
Sproat rebounded from bullpen struggles to throw seven scoreless innings with nine strikeouts for Triple-A Syracuse.
Beck allowed only one run on one hit over seven innings but took the loss against Sproat’s team; he now has twelve wins this year at the Minor League level.
Marek Houston, recently drafted by Minnesota out of Wake Forest, hit his first professional home run since being promoted to High-A Cedar Rapids.
These performances highlight both emerging talent within Major League organizations and individual achievements across various levels of minor league play.
