The Philadelphia Phillies will host their annual Alumni Weekend from August 1 to August 3 at Citizens Bank Park, coinciding with the team’s series against the Detroit Tigers. The event will feature appearances by more than 50 former players and coaches, including Hall of Famers, Wall of Famers, and All-Stars.

A highlight of the weekend is the induction ceremony for Jimmy Rollins and Ed Wade into the Toyota Phillies Wall of Fame. The ceremony is scheduled for Friday, August 1, before the evening game. “Be in your seats early as one of the most legendary players to wear red pinstripes, all-time hits leader and 2008 World Series champion Jimmy Rollins, will be bestowed with one of the team’s highest honors as he becomes the 49th Phillie to be inducted into the prestigious Toyota Phillies Wall of Fame,” according to event organizers.

Ed Wade will also be honored as he becomes only the sixth executive inducted into the club’s Wall of Fame. “Also taking his permanent place in club history as the sixth executive to be inducted into the Toyota Phillies Wall of Fame will be Ed Wade, the team’s vice president and general manager from 1998 until 2005, who was responsible for drafting and developing much of the core of the historic 2008 world championship team, including promoting Rollins to the major leagues.”

Rollins played 15 seasons with Philadelphia after being drafted in 1996. He made his debut on September 17, 2000. Over his career with Philadelphia, he was a three-time National League All-Star (2001-02; 2005), four-time Gold Glove Award winner (2007-09; 2012), Silver Slugger recipient (2007), National League MVP (2007), and co-winner of MLB’s Roberto Clemente Award (2014).

Wade served as general manager from 1998 to 2005. During that time, he acquired or signed several key players who contributed to five straight NL East titles from 2007 through 2011 and a World Series championship in 2008.

On Saturday, August 2, there will be a pregame recognition for Dick Allen following his posthumous induction into baseball’s Hall of Fame in Cooperstown. “Prior to the game, the Phillies will tip their caps to Dick Allen, one of the top sluggers of his generation and the club’s first Black superstar, for his recent posthumous induction into the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown.”

Sunday’s events include a documentary premiere about Jimmy Rollins on YouTube at 10:00 a.m., followed by an on-field celebration saluting both Alumni Night and honoring members from Philadelphia’s National League champion team from 1950.

Throughout Alumni Weekend fans can participate in an online auction featuring memorabilia signed by notable former players such as Larry Bowa, Steve Carlton, Cole Hamels, Roy Halladay, Ryan Howard and others at phillies.com/auctions. Limited-edition merchandise celebrating Rollins and Allen will also be available at Citizens Bank Park starting August 1.

Tickets are available at phillies.com. Fans are encouraged to arrive early due to anticipated crowds and follow updates via social media channels or game broadcasts on NBC Sports Philadelphia or ESPN.

Among those scheduled to appear during Alumni Weekend are Bobby Abreu, Ruben Amaro Jr., Steve Carlton, Cole Hamels, Ryan Howard, Charlie Manuel, Chase Utley and Mike Schmidt.
