Roxborough Memorial Hospital has been awarded an “A” grade in the 2025-26 Lown Institute Hospitals Index, recognizing its exceptional social responsibility. This award highlights the hospital’s strong performance in health equity, patient outcomes, and value of care among over 3,500 hospitals nationwide.

In Pennsylvania, Roxborough Memorial Hospital ranks third among 114 acute care hospitals and holds the top position among 25 acute care hospitals in Philadelphia. Nationally, it is ranked 22nd out of 2,717 acute care hospitals, excelling particularly in social responsibility metrics. The hospital also ranks in the Top 5 in Pennsylvania for social responsibility and inclusivity.

It also received the American Heart Association’s Get With The Guidelines-Stroke Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award.

The Lown Hospitals Index for Social Responsibility evaluates over 50 measures including community benefit and racial inclusivity. Data sources include Medicare claims and CMS patient safety data.

The Lown Institute is an independent think tank advocating bold ideas for a just healthcare system.

Roxborough Memorial Hospital is a 131-bed community hospital serving various communities in Philadelphia since 1890. It is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.
