Senator Joe Picozzi, who represents parts of Northeast Philadelphia in the Pennsylvania State Senate, used his social media account to inform constituents about local events and opportunities, as well as to commemorate a significant historical anniversary.

On December 5, 2025, Senator Picozzi announced an upcoming collaboration with the Pennsylvania State Treasurer: “We’re teaming up with PA State Treasurer Stacy Garrity’s office on December 9th to help residents search for unclaimed property. Swing by anytime from 12–3 PM — it’s free, quick, and you might have money waiting for you!” The event aims to assist residents in identifying and claiming property or funds that may be owed to them by the state.

The following day, on December 6, 2025, Senator Picozzi highlighted ongoing communication efforts: “Stay in the loop! Each week, our office shares updates on what’s happening in Harrisburg and across Northeast Philadelphia, from legislative action to community events. Don’t miss out! Sign up for our weekly newsletter here: https://t.co/qjD1AMh5Wd” This initiative encourages constituents to remain informed about legislative developments and local activities.

On December 7, 2025—Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day—Senator Picozzi posted a message honoring those affected by the attack: “On Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day, we honor the lives lost and the extraordinary bravery shown on December 7, 1941. Their sacrifice changed the course of history and will never be forgotten.”

Unclaimed property programs are managed by state treasurers across the United States. These initiatives allow individuals to recover lost or forgotten assets such as dormant bank accounts or uncashed checks that have been turned over to state custody after periods of inactivity (https://www.patreasury.gov/unclaimed-property/). Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day is observed annually in the U.S. on December 7th to honor those who died during Japan’s attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941—a pivotal event that led directly to America’s entry into World War II (https://www.history.navy.mil/browse-by-topic/commemorations-toolkits/pearl-harbor.html).

Senator Picozzi has represented his district since being elected to the Pennsylvania State Senate in recent years. His office regularly provides information about government services and commemorative events relevant to his constituents.
