Senator Joe Picozzi, a member of the Pennsylvania State Senate, recently highlighted legislative efforts and community engagements through a series of posts on his social media account.
On November 7, 2025, Senator Picozzi reflected on a meeting with Kristine Gribbin and the legislative action inspired by her late husband. He wrote, “Yesterday, I had the privilege of meeting Kristine Gribbin. Her husband, Bernard, was killed while working as a SEPTA bus driver. His story inspired Bernard Gribbin’s Law — legislation I passed in the Senate to protect transit workers. We’ll keep fighting to get it signed.”
Addressing consumer protection issues in Pennsylvania, Senator Picozzi posted on November 8, 2025: “Tired of annoying robocalls and spoofed numbers? I voted to support SB 992 — a bill that cracks down on telemarketers who harass Pennsylvanians and bans calls after 8 p.m. Let’s put an end to these scams once and for all.”
In another post dated November 10, 2025, Senator Picozzi described his visit to a local labor organization: “During my visit to the Carpenters Union, I toured their facility and saw firsthand the variety of trades and apprenticeship programs that help prepare Pennsylvanians for good-paying, family-sustaining jobs. Their work is vital to building both our communities and our economy.”
Bernard Gribbin’s Law is named after Bernard Gribbin, who was killed while working as a Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) bus driver. The proposed legislation aims to enhance protections for transit workers in response to increasing reports of violence against public transportation employees.
SB 992 addresses concerns about telemarketing practices in Pennsylvania by introducing stricter regulations for telemarketers and limiting unwanted calls during evening hours.
The Carpenters Union offers training programs designed to equip individuals with skills needed for careers in various construction trades. These apprenticeship opportunities are intended to support workforce development across Pennsylvania.
