Philadelphia County issued the following announcement on Feb. 14.
It’s no secret that February is the month we like to focus on the things we love!
Keeping to that theme, we wanted to highlight 6 love and beautification-oriented City services that fill our hearts with joy.
Here are a few city services that we feel help infuse love throughout our city!
Get a Marriage License
Love is in the air, but in order to say “I do” you need a marriage license. Both applicants must appear in person at the Register of Wills and provide the required documents, including identification. Learn more about getting your marriage license!
Tie the knot in LOVE Park
Now that you have a marriage license— it’s time to think of a location.
Have you ever dreamt about tying the knot at LOVE park? Well, that’s no surprise with Philadelphia’s LOVE sculpture being one of the most photographed spots in the city!
If you want to get married or renew your vows at the sculpture, sign up for Wedding Wednesdays—learn the steps to take to lock in your date at that popular spot.
Volunteer with the Mayor’s Volunteer Corps
What better way to spread love than through volunteerism?
The Mayor’s Office of Civic Engagement and Volunteer Service can connect you with volunteer opportunities all over the city of Philadelphia. Check out the Mayor’s Volunteer Corps portal to learn more.

From getting a free street tree planted in front of your home or business to getting a dead and hazardous street tree removed when needed, Philadelphia Parks & Recreation can assist you through the many tree services they offer!
Help keep your neighborhood clean with CLIP
The Community Life Improvement Program (CLIP) helps Philadelphians make the City a nicer place to live. They partner with residents, community groups, businesses, other city departments, and agencies to improve the quality of life in our neighborhoods.
CLIP offers a variety of services which include:
- Removal of graffiti vandalism from buildings, street signs, and other street fixtures.
- Enforcement of the City’s regulations to make sure vacant lots and areas are kept clean.
- Lending supplies and offering trash pickup for CLIP-coordinated neighborhood cleanups.
- Providing adult non-violent offenders the opportunity to complete their community service sentences by cleaning and beautifying the city.
